“Your email address is already registered” appears when you are trying to claim a new user discount for the billionth time. It does not have to be like that.

Using disposable temporary emails, like 10minutemail.com, solves the issue usually. However, there is a faster solution, which, as a bonus, avoids having hundreds of emails you do not remember. It is convenient if you need to access that email address in the future. Your future self will thank you.

Solution

Use Extra Dots in an Email Address

That is it. Create one Gmail account and alter it when registering somewhere by adding dots to the email address.

So, if you created the email address “loremipsum@gmail.com”, you can easily register somewhere using “lorem.ipsum@gmail.com”. It is also possible to remove dots for the same effect. Gmail will forward all such messages to the address you created. You can even go crazy and use “l.or.em.ip.sum@gmail.com” or whatever dot permutation you like the most.

Final Notes

Please note that some applications might have protection against this “dotting” already in place. However, it still works as the most convenient solution for most of them.

To further clarify, this is a well-documented behavior. You do not have to worry about this feature’s removal in the future. If you still have doubts, refer to the official Google statement.
